Helen,

Your AYN and AYS Lt Governors are the ones who select the timing - I would suggest speaking with your 2010/11 Lt Governor.

Jerry,

The weather was sunny and warm the whole time we were there. High 70's. It was mid-50s in Seattle when we got home.
A variety of landscapes - mountains, plains, etc. Not a lot of underbrush; birch trees and very straggly evergreen trees. Ponds with swan nests and beaver dams (and the occasional moose). I should post photos!

What was the weather and environment like in that part of the world? Hot/cold? Forest/desert? I have an impression that it's still cold at that time of year. Alaska is the only US state I've never been to.

Patrick Ewing,
This was the first AY Conference I missed in many years; Mid May is always a busy time with end of school activities like Track and Field meets; I think indoor meetingss should be held when weather is cool. The long days of May are for outsdoors. Those meetings should be scheduled to encourage persons to attend. My Palmer Club needs to know the people and workings of Kiwanis.

Jack,

I saw on UNICEF's site today that CIDA will match any donations for Haiti, doubling your donation. Canadians can receive a tax receipt if they donate to UNICEF Canda. Donations can be done online (here) or sent to:

UNICEF Canada
